This Meishan Pig is a hyper-detailed creature asset where I handled the entire texturing and lookdev process. All texture work was created in Mari, using a layered workflow that combines procedural masks with hand-painted details to achieve realistic skin variation, deep wrinkles, subtle color shifts, mud buildup, and natural roughness breakup across the UDIMs. Particular attention was given to pore structure, specular response, and organic breakup to ensure the model holds up convincingly in extreme close-up film shots.
Lookdev was completed in Maya using Arnold, utilizing physically accurate shaders and layered networks to match real-world skin behavior under multiple lighting conditions. Custom AOVs, displacement refinements, and controlled specular layering were used to shape the final cinematic presentation. This asset was developed as a fully film-ready creature, built to perform in high-end VFX pipelines with realism and consistency across lighting setups.
